Scorpio New Moon November 2020

For those of us who live in Sydney Australia, the November new moon occurs at 4:07pm on Sunday 15th November.  We are 11 hours ahead of GMT/UTC  so for readers in the UK and USA it will be occurring on 14th November.  Check out your time zone here https://www.timeanddate.com/moon/phases/

This new moon is at 23 degrees of Scorpio and this time the new moon is making what might be called friendly aspects to game changer planets Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn, and Neptune in Pisces.  These game changers give additional beneficial power to your new moon intentions to restructure your life and let go of beliefs and behaviours that are sabotaging your relationships and enable you to attract, create and develop more emotionally fulfilling and loving, passionate relationships.

Scorpio is, in many ways, an intense sign because it’s all about diving deeper. Some of the areas of life that Scorpio covers are regarded as taboo topics in the culture I was born into – sex, death, taxes and inheritance – so connecting to Scorpio energy can have the feeling of going into forbidden places.  Let’s face it, the Scorpio sign has had a bad rap partly because it is willing to do whatever it takes to get what it wants, but also because it is willing and able to dig down deep and uncover the secrets of others and reveal truth that ultimately benefits our growth and spiritual evolution.  Scorpio is the only zodiac sign that has more than one symbol – showing us that it is complex and operates on more than one level. The scorpion is the most well known – the sting in the tail and the willingness to enact vengeance even at risk of its own death.  But Scorpio also carries the symbols of the phoenix – rising up from the ashes, renewed and stronger than before; and the eagle – soaring above with a higher perspective and ability to see the bigger picture and hold and focus on their creative vision. One thing is for sure, Scorpio knows what it wants and knows how to get it.  So be clear about what you want, do not try to influence another (that has karmic repercussions) and be bold – it’s your life at stake here!

On the mundane level sex is sex – a physical act between two people that can be highly pleasurable or highly painful depending on the relationship of the two people.  On a deeper level Scorpio is about power in relationships, including domination and submission; it’s about how we enter into intimacy with our lover – is sex a means to an end – orgasm, conception, service in exchange for money/power or is it entered into with mutual love and passion that deepens the emotional connection between two people who love each other?

Death is an unavoidable truth – everything living must die. Scorpio offers us the acceptance of death which frees us to live our life with passion and wildness.  Scorpio is also about transformation and re-birth.  We can choose to figuratively kill off the parts of ourselves that no longer serve us and in the process we birth a new version of our self.

Taxes have to be paid – whether we like it or not though there are plenty of people who will do everything they can to avoid it.  Scorpio also rules financial partnerships and debts so we can set intentions to improve our finances.

We inherit the genetics of our ancestors and sometimes our relatives leave us with financial wealth and other times they leave us with more responsibility such as the care of a family member.  So we have a choice in how we accept and work with what is inherited by us – Scorpio is resourceful and creative and very capable of transforming what might initially seem like a “bad” situation into an empowering one.

The Scorpio new moon gives us the opportunity to set our intentions to become more emotionally connected and intimate in a safe way with our beloved; to live our life more passionately and honestly; to face our fears of rejection and annihilation; to take risks with our emotions for the sake of personal growth; to accept the inevitability of physical death and embrace each day with wholeheartedness and gratitude; to give of ourselves wholly and completely to every situation without expecting anything back.

Setting your intention

Timing of setting your new moon intentions is to occur in the 8 hour period immediately following the time of the new moon.  Your window of opportunity to set your intentions for this Scorpio new moon (in Sydney) is from 4:07pm Sunday 15th November to 12:07am Monday morning.

To set your intentions it is important to handwrite your intentions on paper – there is something profound about the act of handwriting because your energy and intention flows through your hand and onto the page via the pen.  Notice how your handwriting style may change according to your mood, so it reflects more of your inner feelings than typing on a keyboard.

It is recommended to create at least 3 intentions and a maximum of 10.  Any more will dilute the energy. Intentions are phrased as wants/wishes and it is important that you write them in a way that activates your feelings so you are emotionally involved with the intention.
